The short version

You can delete your Homeschool Companion account at any time, for any reason or no reason. The fastest way is from inside the app: Settings → Delete Account. If you no longer have access to your device, email us at support@honeybeeplanners.com and we'll do it for you within 30 days. Either way, your data is gone — and we won't ask you to justify it.

Before you delete

Deletion is permanent. Your lessons, grades, reports, photos, and progress history are removed and cannot be recovered. If there's any chance you'll want a copy of your year — for state reporting, your records, or a future return — export your data first. The Documents tab inside the app exports your year-end materials; you can also email support@honeybeeplanners.com to request a full data export in a portable format, and we'll send it before deleting anything.

If you have an active paid subscription, deleting your account inside Homeschool Companion does not automatically cancel your subscription with Apple or Google — those are managed by the store, not by us. See Subscription cancellation below.

Option 1: Delete from inside the app (recommended)

This is the fastest path. Deletion happens immediately, and you'll be signed out and returned to the sign-in screen.

  1. Open Homeschool Companion on your device and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  2. Tap Settings (the gear icon in the top-right of any screen).
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  4. You'll see a summary of exactly what will be deleted — every child, lesson, event, grade, report, and saved record on your account. If you want a copy first, tap Export first and return to this dialog when the export is done.
  5. Type your account email address into the confirmation field to enable the Delete button. This is a deliberate friction point — it's a one-way action.
  6. Tap Delete Account. Within a few seconds your account and all associated data are removed from our active systems, and you're returned to the sign-in screen.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you've lost access to your device, forgotten your password and can't reset it, or simply prefer to ask us to do it, email support@honeybeeplanners.com from the email address registered to your Homeschool Companion account.

Include in your email:

We'll confirm receipt within two business days, send you an export if you've asked for one, and complete the deletion within 30 days. We may ask one verification question before we proceed — only to make sure we're deleting the right account.

What might still exist briefly

We aim to be straightforward about this rather than promise more than we can deliver.

We retain no copy of your worksheets, lessons, grades, photos, or personal information after deletion.

Subscription cancellation

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Deleting your Homeschool Companion account does not cancel your subscription with the store. To stop being billed:

We recommend cancelling your subscription before deleting your account, so you don't continue to be billed for an app you no longer have an account on.

Children's data

Children do not have their own accounts in Homeschool Companion — their data lives entirely under the parent's account. Deleting your account deletes every record of every child you've added, including their names, lessons, grades, attendance, and any kid-device pairings. There is no separate child-account deletion process because there are no separate child accounts.

If you want to delete a single child without deleting your whole account, use the per-child delete inside the app: Settings → Children → tap the child → Delete this child. That removes the one child without touching the rest of your family.
