The short version

These are the terms you agree to by using Honeybee Planners. We've kept them in plain language wherever we can. The short version: Honeybee is a homeschool planner you use to organize your own family's school work. Your data is yours. We provide the app as-is, we don't claim it satisfies any government's homeschool requirements, and any AI grading is a helpful suggestion you should review — never the final word. If something doesn't work, tell us at support@honeybeeplanners.com.

1. Agreeing to these Terms

By creating an account or using Honeybee Planners ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use the app. These Terms are an agreement between you and Honeybee Planners LLC ("we", "us"), a Florida limited liability company.

2. What Honeybee Planners is

Honeybee Planners is a planning, grading, and record-keeping tool for parents who homeschool their children. It helps you plan lessons, log attendance, grade worksheets, save reports, and watch your family's rhythm over time.

Honeybee is NOT a curriculum, a school, an accreditation body, or a substitute for whatever your state, province, or country requires of homeschooling families. Reports and documents you create in the app are organizational aids for your own portfolio. We never claim — and you should not assume — that anything you produce in Honeybee satisfies any government's homeschool reporting requirements. Compliance is between you and your jurisdiction.

3. Your account

4. Free trial, subscription, and billing

Honeybee Planners begins with a 14-day free trial. After the trial, an active subscription is required to continue using the app: $9.99 per month, or $99.99 per year. One subscription covers your whole family — every child on your account is included.

All billing is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Your subscription auto-renews until you cancel it, and is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at the start of each billing period. We don't collect or process payment information ourselves.

To cancel or manage your subscription, open your device's store settings:

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We can suspend or terminate your account if you do these things, and we'll explain why if we do.

6. Your content stays yours

Everything you create in Honeybee — your lessons, your grades, your worksheet photos, your reports — belongs to you. We don't own your school records.

To run the app for you, we need a limited license from you to store, process, transmit, and display that content on your devices. That license is non-exclusive, royalty-free, and lasts only as long as we hold your data (see the Privacy Policy for retention details). We don't use your content for any purpose other than running the app for you, and the license ends when your account is deleted.

7. AI grading and report accuracy — read this

Honeybee's Scan & Grade feature uses artificial intelligence to read worksheet photos and suggest grades. It is a helpful tool, but it is not perfect. AI can misread handwriting, miscount partial credit, mark a correct answer wrong, mark a wrong answer right, or fail entirely on a difficult page.

You are responsible for reviewing every grade before relying on it. Treat Honeybee's graded output as a starting point — like a teaching assistant's first pass — not as the final word.

Similarly, the reports and documents Honeybee generates (including Year-End Evaluations and any future Report Card or Progress Report types) are organizational aids you create for your own portfolio. They are not legal certifications, school transcripts, or evidence of academic achievement recognized by any school, state, college, or government body. If your jurisdiction requires specific homeschool documentation, confirm directly with the agency that requires it — Honeybee's output is a starting point you may adapt, not a guaranteed substitute.

8. Our intellectual property

The Honeybee Planners app, its code, its design, the Honeybee name and logo, the bee illustration, the Honey font family, and all other Honeybee-branded assets are owned by Honeybee Planners LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our brand or assets, except the right to use the app as a paying subscriber.

9. Service availability

We work to keep the app running smoothly, but we don't guarantee that it will be available without interruption. We may need to take it down occasionally for maintenance, upgrades, or to fix problems. We may also discontinue features, or the app itself, at our discretion — though we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data first if we ever shut the whole service down.

10. Disclaimers

The app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that grading results, reports, or any output of the app will be accurate, complete, or sufficient for any particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Honeybee Planners LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill, arising from your use of the app — even if we have been told such damages were possible.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Honeybee in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $50.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Honeybee Planners LLC, its members, and its agents from any third-party claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your misuse of the app, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) content you upload that infringes someone else's rights, or (d) your violation of any applicable law.

13. Termination

You can stop using the app at any time. To delete your account, use the Account page in Settings or email support@honeybeeplanners.com (see delete-account for step-by-step instructions). Cancelling your subscription does not by itself delete your data — see the Privacy Policy for retention details.

We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we have a legal obligation to do so. We'll tell you why and, where possible, give you a chance to fix the issue first. If we terminate your account for cause, you remain responsible for any fees already incurred.

14. Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms in a way that materially affects your rights or obligations, we'll let you know inside the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after a meaningful change means you accept the new Terms; if you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

If you have a dispute with us, please email support@honeybeeplanners.com first — most issues can be resolved with a conversation. If informal resolution doesn't work, the dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Pasco County, Florida, and you and we each consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
